When this picture was taken with our time added up we had about 75 yrs of tattooing in, me and Tatts Tommy, taken in Halifax NS. Tommy was a classic! They broke the mold when he was made.

My guess is the picture was taken in the 1980s. If I had to nail it down to a certain year, okay, I'm going with 1986.

I figured it out by remembering how long Jerry's been tattooing (46 years), then figuring in how long I estimated Tatts Tommy to have tattooed (about 50 years). That put me somewhere in the 80's. Then I examined the picture closely. The stereo speakers are black, and until about '84-'85 they were either silver or wood grain... Also I looked at his phone, lamps, etc... and figured 1986.

By the way my father used to have one of those big ashtrays too, right next to the client chair, in his tattoo shop in Camas, WA.

Haha, my Dad had one of those trays, too, except it was brown. It was one of my chores to empty it. How vile is that, making a child dump an overflowing, 2 packs a day ash tray.

Anyway, that's a great picture, except I could probably do without the old man nipples.

Jerry do you remember what was on his knuckles? From the picture I can't tell if it's lettering or something else.

I really love that photo Jerry. It evokes so many wonderful things. Friendship, happy memories, chief among them.

Thank you for sharing photos like this with us.

That's a truly wonderful photo of the cover of "the tattoo club of the World" (and what a priceless autograph that is on the cover, too.)

I really enjoy that photo of the handsome lad in the uniform, too.

Great thread!

I love these old photo threads. Thanks Jerry. I'm beginning to notice somebody ALWAYS has their shirt off in your photos-- haha.

Jed- they take anyone into the military in Australia huh? nice uniform.
